About Me

I've lived in Scarborough, Ontario for most of my life and from a young age, I knew that I wanted to go into the arts. I started playing piano around the age of four and violin at the age of nine and have always had an interest in film as a outlet for expression. Since then, I've attended Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, studying film, music and animation, and earned my BFA in Film Studies at Ryerson University.

In July of 2016, I received the Young Filmmakers Award for my film, Spliced, which was screened at the FilmOneFest in New Jersey. I also received the Nick Holeris Memorial Award in November of 2018 for “exceptional initiative, creativity, and originality” in screenwriting. My other short films, Happy Birthday and Subproject 68, have gone on to screen at festivals such as the Hamilton Youth Film Festival and Toronto Lift-Off Film Festival.

My most recent short film, Fish Out of Water, follows the story of a non-verbal boy with Cerebral Palsy who encounters an alien. The film screened at the Ryerson University Film Festival on May 3rd, 2019, and won the People’s Choice Award as well as an award for Best Child Actor. Fish Out of Water premiered internationally at the Jersey Shore Film Festival and won the award for Best Student Film.

Film for me is not only an expression of creativity, but an opportunity to bring forward new ideas and give others a voice. I believe it’s incredibly important to tell stories that we don’t often get to see in popular media, and with my work, I aim to do just that. I have a passion for making unique, relatable narratives to illustrate that at the end of the day, everyone is human and deserves to be understood.
